The now flooded junction of the Colorado River and Smith Fork Canyon was the location of a mile long river-bar - and was also home to Ancestral Puebloans from about 1000 - 1280 AD. They grew crops by the river, and nearby created one of the largest and most spectacular Petroglyph panels in Southern Utah. These unique figures are part of that panel - now 200 feet under the surface of Lake Powell.
