A Pictoglyph is the fairly rare combination of a Pictograph and a Petroglyph. In this instance, the Fremont Figurine was first painted as a solid-body figure on a canyon wall in Eastern Utah. The image was later modified by the same, or perhaps a different artist, using Petroglyph production methods: pecking out the eyes, fringed lower body, belt line, and kilt.
