The Rio Grande Southern (RGS) is possibly the most beloved of the historic high-mountain narrow gauge railroads. The RGS traversed two of the most rugged and beautiful mountain passes in Colorado - running 170 miles from Durango to Ridgway via Mancos, Dolores, Rico, Lizard Head Pass (elev. 10,246), the Ophir Loop, Telluride, Placerville, and Dallas Divide (elev. 8,983). The RGS met the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad in both Ridgway and Durango. Founded by the legendary Otto Mears in 1890, the RGS ceased operations in 1951.

There are several variations of this logo. The RGS changed it slightly over the years. The version we recreated was used in the 1940s.

Made by hand in Colorado. Cut in outline with no border and no background. Made with weather-proof 3M vinyl.
