The Colorado and Southern Railway (C&S) was formed in 1898 as the consolidation of several bankrupt narrow gauge railroads. The C&S narrow gauge division consisted of four main lines: the Clear Creek Line from Denver to Silver Plume via the Georgetown Loop; the Platte Canyon Line from Denver to Como; the High Line from Como to Leadville; and the Gunnison Line from Como to Gunnison via the Alpine Tunnel (elev.11,523). The last C&S narrow gauge operation ran from Leadville to the Climax mines, and was converted to standard gauge in 1943. The Georgetown Loop Railroad now exists on a rebuilt section of the Clear Creek Line, running from Georgetown to Silver Plume.
Our sticker was inspired by the hand-drawn lettering on the 1899 Colorado & Southern Railway annual pass.
