From 1913 to 1974 Colorado annually issued brand-new license plates to all registered vehicles. The 1958 plate featured an image of a downhill skier, highlighting the importance of the burgeoning ski industry in Colorado. 1958 was the only year that the Colorado license plate had an image other than the well-known generic mountains. Colorado’s ’58 skier plate was unique, interesting and appealing. It had a lot of character, and truly deserves to be remembered.
